This Man Joshua Arap Sang’:

 

“ As a Christian this Hague dilemma to me has resulted into blessings beyond words…

  The mere mention of his name gives one an unmistakeable and unique allure characteristic of a seasoned politician or a dearly loved and revered opinion leader. In deed towards the end of 2011, all media houses local and international either by default or design extensively analyzed,   reported and featured his autobiography. I’m talking about non other than Joshua Arap Sang’. A man short in physique but quite tall in insight, intellect, ambition and aspiration.

 

He is a man whom many perceived and labeled contrarily but whom enigma and simplicity freely flows at a closer scrutiny. He together with the so called Ocampo Six, which has since been reduced to The Hague Four has for the last four years tirelessly fought tooth and nail to prove to the world that the allegations leveled against them were by all standards just as shocking and as they are mind boggling.

 

The other personalities that have been co-accused with him include Eldoret North Legislator, William Ruto, Deputy Prime Minister, Uhuru Kenyatta and Former head of Public Service and secretary to the cabinet, Ambassador Francis Muthaura. Two others, Tinderet MP, Henry  Kosgey and Former top cop, Hussein Ali have since been cleared of the charges when the judges declined to confirm their charges. 

 Little Known Seum Village Cherangany

His resolve to fight against the forces of doom out to malign and dent his future is catapulted further by the humble beginning of a man who was born and brought up in an equally simple and little known Seum village, Cherangany constituency of Trans Nzoia County about 37yrs ago. His sat for his KCPE exams in 1989 at Seum Primary and joined form one at Kitale Academy for his secondary education.

Was involved in various business ventures

Upon completion, Joshua did not     proceed immediately to college. His passion for broadcasting gave him little options in admission to colleges that offered the course. The renowned Kenya Institute of Mass Communications by then were only admitting 18students countrywide, positions which were only reserved for the who is who in the media and political     circles.

 

This however, did not deter him from making applications every year that such applications were announced, and for close to 10 years made frantic    efforts by applying yearly to be admitted at the Masscom Institute. That was in 2004, when he went personally to secure admission at the school. Mean while from 1994 –1999, Joshua was  involved in various business activities ranging from maize selling, fashion and cloths and later on sports wears in   Eldoret. A ardent Christian right from Birth and upbringing Joshua in 2003 got his first employment (though as a volunteer  presenter in youth        programs ) at Sayare Broadcasting (a Christian Media House). He later on     became     producer cum presenter at the station.

 He got married while at Sayare in 2003 to Truphosa Sang’ with whom they are happily married raising a family of three kids. Two months later after his wedding  when the wind of change came blowing in his life, he relocated to Nairobi where he landed on another job at a Christian radio station and introduced news segments at the Biblia Husema Broadcasting. This also explains the irony in the accusations that now face him at the highest level of criminal justice system in the world.
